  Important Dates  


The Curriculum is designed by KIIT School of Management to achieve the following three objectives:

  • Building a strong foundation in all the key functional areas of business
  • Fostering strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Providing academic flexibility to promote the customization and personalization of knowledge

The MBA curriculum consists of three different components - Core courses, Elective courses and corporate experience through study tours and On-Job-Training (OJT). Each component reinforces learning from the other, thereby fortifying the education process. The core and elective courses are delivered over 4 semester of 20 weeks duration for each semester and a summer project of 8 weeks duration after the 2nd semesters (OJT). There are 17 core courses in the first year and one core course plus elective courses equivalent to 32 credits in the second year covering seven functional areas. It is compulsory for a students to select at least ONE area of concentration from the functional areas “Marketing”, “HR”, “Finance and Accounting”, “Information Technology”, “Technology and Operations”. If a student wants, he/she can choose TWO areas of concentration too.

The core courses in the first year establish a strong foundation in major functions of business viz. business environment, marketing, finance, human resources, communication, IT, operations and strategy. This input helps students to acquire basic analytical, quantitative and communication skills and builds their confidence to undertake advance courses during the second year.

The summer project at the end of first year, called On-Job-Training (OJT), consolidates the classroom learning with exposure to real life corporate environment. The elective courses during the second year offers opportunity for specialization in major functional areas of management, adding greater depth to the learning acquired during the first year.

The last two semesters comprise of specialization courses where the students can choose elective courses offered by the following areas:

  • Human Resource Management
  • Marketing Management
  • Financial Management
  • Information Technology Management
  • Technology and Operations Management

A students has to complete a minimum of 32 credits of elective in total during the two semesters in the 2nd year. Students need to select appropriate mix of course according to their career preference. It is compulsory for student to select at least one area of concentration from the functional areas. The elective courses shall be offered to a student is any area of the following categories:

  • Only ONE Area of concentration: 16 credits for Major Area & at least 16 credits from other areas.
  • TWO Areas of concentration: 16 credits each from TWO areas.

Students have the option of taking upto 36 credits in the second year, minimum requirement being 32 credits.

Graduate in any discipline recognized by the AIU with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education and having minimum 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA) with KIITEE MGT/CMAT/CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT/ ATMA score. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned University/ Institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the University/ Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing CGPA obtained with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

Those who are in their final year of graduation and awaiting their results by June, 2015 can also apply.

Candidates awaiting KIITEE MGT/ CMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ ATMA results can apply pending publication of results. Such candidates need to send their KIITEE MGT/ CMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ ATMA scores within 7 days of publication of results.

»Candidates expecting graduation results within June, 2015:

Candidates in their final year degree and expecting graduation results within June, 2015 can also apply for the MBA Programme.Such applicants are required to submit along with their application form, a certificate from the Principal or Head of the Institution to the effect that the candidate is expected to complete all requirements for completion and award of the degree with in June, 2015.

»Foreign/NRI Applicants:

Foreign/NRI applicants shall follow the above procedure and submit the filled-in application form along with requisite documents mentioned above with application fee of US $50. The filled-in application form along with GMAT score card should reach KSOM on or before 31st may, 2015.

Candidates shall be shortlisted on the basis of KIITEE MGT/CMAT/MAT/XAT/CAT/GMAT score for appearing in Group Discussion (GD) and / or Personal Interview (PI) at Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. The final selection shall be based on KIITEE MGT/CMAT/MAT/XAT/CAT/GMAT score, career marks and performance in GD & PI.Successful candidates will be intimated of their final selection through admission offer letter containing the terms and conditions of admission.The selected candidates shall confirm and accept the admission offer with terms and conditions for taking admission to the programme and submit the Acceptance Letter in its prescribed format.

Cancellation of Admission Offer

  • The admission of a candidate will be automatically cancelled, if any information provided in the application form is found incorrect or missing
  • Those fail to submit the final degree in time as stipulated or fail to secure minimum eligible marks in the degree examination.
  • Non fulfillments of terms and conditions of the admission offer letter.

  • High School Certificate and mark sheet.
  • +2 / HSC Certificate and Mark sheet.
  • Graduation (B.A., B. Com, B.Sc, Engineering etc.) Certificate and Mark sheet.
  • College leaving Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate
  • KIITEE MGT/CMAT/MAT/CAT/XAT/GMAT/ATMA Score card
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
  • Physically handicapped certificate, if applicable

Students in KSOM go through the same rigorous learning experience that is offered by IIMs and the other top B-schools of the country. In addition to spending time in classrooms, students spend a lot of time in self-driven learning, that adds to their overall maturity and experience.

Some of the leaning experiences that students go through are:

  • Attending workshops conducted by Industry Leaders
  • Listening to MD, CEO, CFO level executives and Entrepreneurs in Seminars and Conclaves
  • Organizing various events in and outside the campus
  • 2-month Summer Internship Program in a reputed business house
  • Industry visit by students
  • Outbound experiential program where students travel outside to learn real-life lessons

The total MBA Course Fee (excluding mess charges) is Rs. 8, 65,000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs Sixty Five Thousand only) payable in five installments as given below. The fee includes Tuition Fees, Hostel and Utility Charges, Development and Administration Fees and Books.

Mess, incidental and any personal expenses will have to be borne by the students.

  • Candidates applying ONLINE would be required to submit copies of their mark sheets and other supporting documents at a later stage, as will be instructed by the institution. Payment can be done through credit card/bank transfer etc., as instructed / supported at the online payment site itself.
OFFLINE APPLICATION
  • Candidates applying through OFFLINE need to make a DD of Rs. 1250/- drawn in favour of “KIIT School of Management”, payable at Bhubaneswar. The DD along with the filled in and signed application form needs to be sent to “Chairperson, Admissions, KIIT School of Management, Campus – 7, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar – 751024″.
  • Name and Address of the candidate needs to be mentioned on the reverse of the Demand Draft.
  • Candidates should retain photocopies of the DD and the application form submitted for future reference.
